Since being established in 1989, Carlo's of Alnwick has been known for an unparalleled commitment to customer satisfaction. It’s this standard of excellence that has provided the impetus for us to grow into the business we are today.

Carlo's of Alnwick is a family run business owned by Adam Alexander who joined the business in 2006 when he married Carlo's daughter. In 2019 Adam was joined in the business by Carlo's nephew Andrew Watt. The fish and chip tradition is now in it's fourth generation and continues to be a popular choice with locals and tourists alike.

Being recognised on Tripadvisor as a business of excellence since 2013 is not our only achievement of which we are proud. We have also been acknowledged in local and national press as "the best on the coast" (Sunday Times 2017).

We hold the National Fish Frier's Federation Quality Award for our consistently high standards in various categories such as food, service and hygiene. We are very proud to be one of the very few chip shops nationally to have been honoured with this award.
Restaurant & Bookings
We Welcome Reservations
We are a 58 seater restaurant. To get a piece of the action choose the downstairs seating area or if you prefer a more peaceful vibe the upstairs seating area is for you. We welcome bookings and in the summer we often cater for bus trips and the odd pre -wedding gathering!
Artisan Gelato
Our homemade, Italian, Artisan Gelato is made by us, onsite everyday. We use local suppliers to ensure that our product is fresh, tasty and second to none. Why not try for yourself?
